As you can tell.. I have not been blogging very often as we have been busy creating and coordinating wonderful weddings every weekend since April… But I am getting very anxious to share these wonderful weddings with you. Matt and Claire started their planning about a year ago when they called me from New York and told me all about their wonderful ideas and I explained how I could help turn their long distance planning into an easy process!! To see this vision become reality is my favorite part of my job and I am still in awe of how some ideas can really transform a space! Enjoy the photos by the wonderful Gina from A Truth Be Shown… Not only does she do an amazing job, she is very quick getting me photos! I had the pleasure of helping Andrea and Tou with their wedding on May 28th at the Crowne Plaza in St. Paul. I wanted to share with you the video that Northern Lights Videography filmed of the wedding day!

Aleesha and Kevin were referred to me by Gloria and Jake, a wonderful Couple I was lucky enough to help coordinate their August 2008 Wedding. Like all referrals, Aleesha and Kevin were wonderful to work with. we planned their wonderful September wedding in just 5 months. Aleesha knew the look that she wanted and really wanted to incorporate a lot of her and Kevin’s interests, favorite locations in Minneapolis and memories into the wedding. The lasting memory that will always stand out about their wedding to me was that this was much more than a wedding, this was about their marriage and their family! Congratulations Mr and Mrs. Webb!

One area of my job I enjoy a lot is the constant education into different cultures and all of their traditional wedding traditions. When I was sitting back and thinking about writing this blog I was amazed by how many different cultures we were touched with this year. We did 3 Nigerian Weddings, a Laos Wedding, 2 Korean Ceremonies, Incorporated Philippine Traditions into the wedding, and coordinated 3 Jewish Weddings.
Not only is it interesting to see how different cultures and religions incorporate items into the ceremony and wedding, it is fun to learn together on why these items are so special. The Vibrant colors that are worn by Nigerian women are so beautiful, the traditional dresses from the Korean ceremonies are so unique and of course the Jewish Hora dance is one of my favorite parts of a wedding. I will never forget the first time I saw it, the energy that is in that room is amazing and electrifying. Enjoy the collection of photos that showcase all of the Cultural Weddings we have done this year along with some of my favorite traditions!
