The Machine Shop Wedding | Katie and Joe

2017 seems to be the year of the winter wedding for us at Lasting Impressions!! With everyone around me now saying “Are you ready for busy season” I keep thinking… When was it slow season! We loved all of our winter weddings this year and thank god, the weather cooperated with us with very little snow and travel problems!! Katie and Joe were married on January 14th and I have been so excited to post this wedding!! Not only did I love working with Katie and Joe (and Katie’s fabulous mom Patty!!) But It is the first wedding we have coordinated at the much anticipated Machine Shop in Minneapolis!!

The Machine Shop came along at the perfect time for Katie and Joe! They were engaged in April knew they did not want a long engagement, so we were looking at a late fall/early Winter Wedding and we also needed to find a venue that would hold 400-500 guests!! Thankfully the Machine Shop was just entering its final stages of construction and we were able to take a “hard hat” tour of the space. Hard hat tours are not always the easiest for clients to “envision” the finished look of the space, but Katie and Joe loved what they were seeing and loved that it was something different and they had not already been to numerous events at the space!!

Now when it came to designing the space, It really was a fun challenge for me to work on the logistics with the wonderful Machine Shop Staff, Apres Party Rental, Rudy’s Rentals, Arts and Flowers and of course the stylish bride and her mother!! The goal of the design was to warm up the industrial space with lots of candles, chandler’s, wood farm tables and classic white and green floral.

The vendors on this wedding did a fantastic job and I am so thankful for each and every one of them!!! If all winter weddings could be this fun.. I would not even mind the long Minnesota Winters!!
