lasting impressions weddings is an award-winning minnesota wedding planning and design company

Whitney and Tyler make me so thankful for referrals! Megan and Ben were one of my couples from 2009… WOW, that is a long time ago… and since then, they have referred SO many clients to me!! I was joking with them that I should be buying them something REALLY nice for a gift because not only are they a great referral point, but I get to see them at a lot of weddings per year.. and that makes me so excited!!

I knew from the moment that Whitney contacted me and told me that I had coordinated her friends wedding that she was so sweet and that I WANTED THIS WEDDING!! When I meet a couple that I have to work with I get really emotional and I have to find a way to make it work!! Luckily for me Whitney and Tyler did hire me for their planner and I got to spend the next 16 months working along side Whitney and her mother Ellen and Tyler and his mother Judy! It was very much a team wedding planning effort and I could not have been happier to be apart of the planning and the big wedding day!!!!

This “fusion” wedding incorporated Jewish traditions as well as elements of a traditional Lutheran Wedding! We transformed the entire Depot for their ceremony and reception using the Great Hall for the ceremony and transforming the “rink” area for the cocktail hour and dinner! I describe the color scheme as a joyful fall theme! We mixed classic colors in the linens and chairs with some pops of vibrant fall colors in the flowers! The room reveal is always my favorite part of a night and it was so much fun getting to sneak in Whitney, Tyler and the mother’s to show them how this canvas was transformed!

Thank you for trusting me with your big day- I will always treasure working with you!!

onsI have started to write this blog post at least 5 times and then decided I would “come back to it”.. Mainly because I do not think any words that I say can can capture how much I love Tina and Dan and how amazing their wedding was.. so I will just have to sum it up as best as I can!! Tina and Dan’s wedding was not just simply one day, but it was a full weekend of amazing events… We started off at the Hilton in Bloomington with the Mehendi Party that welcomed all of their guests in from out of town, complete with food stations, Mehndi Artists and wonderful traditional Indian music. The wedding took place at the Hilton in downtown Minneapolis and we had a great line up of amazing vendors that transformed the amber-lit ceremony space into an amazing peacock inspired reception.
When I first met Tina over a year before her wedding she explained all of the elements that she was going to need help on and I got very excited and told her that I was up to the challenge!!! Like most weddings, there were challenges.. but the lessons I learned, the people I met and the love that I felt was SO much more than I could have ever imagined! A BIG thank you to our fantastic group of vendors that pulled off a flawless wedding for Tina, Dan and their 420 guests!! Tina and Dan (and adorable Aiden).. I miss you!!
I have tried to limit the number of photos on this post (Trust me.. It was so hard to narrow down my favorites!!!) So please check out more of Red Ribbon Studio’s Amazing Photos on our Facebook page!

We had the GREAT pleasure of working with Paige and Nolan on their September 17th wedding! Not only was the wedding amazingly beautiful, held at one of our favorite venues – Graves Hotel, but it was also special because it was the second time we were able to work with the Giblin Family! We helped coordinate Paige’s sister’s wedding in 2008. So needless to say I was over joyed when I got the call from the Mother of the Bride letting me know that her other daughter was getting married!!!! I LOVE pink… and I love that this wedding was blinded out with crystals, feathers, lots of pink roses and a classic wedding touch!!!

Below are some amazing pictures from the always wonderful Jessica from JM Photo.. When I get the rest from her I will make sure and feature them in their own blog post (this wedding is too pretty for just one blog post!!). I LOVE how John Hoel from Vibrant Film really captures not only the day, but the love that Paige and Nolan have for each other!

One area of my job I enjoy a lot is the constant education into different cultures and all of their traditional wedding traditions. When I was sitting back and thinking about writing this blog I was amazed by how many different cultures we were touched with this year. We did 3 Nigerian Weddings, a Laos Wedding, 2 Korean Ceremonies, Incorporated Philippine Traditions into the wedding, and coordinated 3 Jewish Weddings.
Not only is it interesting to see how different cultures and religions incorporate items into the ceremony and wedding, it is fun to learn together on why these items are so special. The Vibrant colors that are worn by Nigerian women are so beautiful, the traditional dresses from the Korean ceremonies are so unique and of course the Jewish Hora dance is one of my favorite parts of a wedding. I will never forget the first time I saw it, the energy that is in that room is amazing and electrifying. Enjoy the collection of photos that showcase all of the Cultural Weddings we have done this year along with some of my favorite traditions!
