HOW TO LET YOUR GUESTS KNOW YOU ARE POSTPONING YOUR WEDDING DUE TO COVID-19

As I am spending more and more time at home due to COVID-19, I have been cleaning more and more and I wanted to share with you one of my favorite Diamond Ring Cleaner from one of my favorite Bloggers Living with Landyn.

The best thing about this DIY Diamond Ring Cleaner is that you have all of the tools already on hand at home!!
All you need is..

• Windex
• Dawn
• microwave-safe dish
• soft toothbrush

Pour equal parts Windex and Dawn into the dish, and microwave the mixture for about 1 minute
CAREFULLY remove the hot mixture from the microwave.
Submerge the jewelry, and let is soak for at least 10 minutes.
Use toothbrush and give everything a gentle scrub and then rinse with water, and dry with a paper towel and you are all set!!

I try and wash my ring once a week to keep it just as shiny as it was when I got engaged!!! When I am on the go I always keep a Diamond Dazzle Stick in my car for quick touchups

When I originally received the email from Lauren and Jonathan asking if I would be interested in helping with their Lake Minnetonka Island Wedding the only thing I could think of was.. YES.. OF COURSE!!! If you know me, you know that I love the water… and we have a boat on Lake Minnetonka and I spend every minute that I am not at a wedding.. either in the water or on the water!!

Lauren and Jonathan lived in California and were planning this celebration remotely, which is an undertaking even when you are not creating a venue on an island. They were organized and throughout the whole planning had the best perspective on everything!! The wide range of challenges you can run into while planning a backyard wedding are long. Everything from bugs, Heat, Rain, Transportation, Bathrooms, etc, etc. But even with the wide range of challenges.. backyard weddings are always my favorite types of events; Because there is nothing more special than getting married in a place that means so much to you!

The Lake Minnetonka island has been in Lauren’s family for generations and it was her special sanctuary that always seems to lead her back to Minnesota summer after summer. Lauren is a teacher and spent most of her breaks in Minnesota… at the lake.. planning the wedding!! We had numerous conversations about how to get guests out to the lake, Plan A, B and C for the weather, where vendors were going to park, how catering was going to load in and out… and after 18 months of planning.. It was their wedding day!!!!

The wedding day was exactly how I pictured it; One Hundred of Lauren and Jonathan’s best friends and family celebrating love , life and the lake that meant so much to them!!!  Thank you to all of the vendors that helped make this day possible…. There were hundreds of logistics emails, reminders and follow-ups and we were lucky to have such an amazing group working on this!!! And Like Always.. Joe and Jen Photography captured the day so perfectly!!!!

My life as a wedding planner has always been about juggling. Covid-19

But as I sit here and write this post we are in unprecedented times. We are currently living in the middle of a “Stay at Home Order” For the Covid-19 Virus and my days are not filled with sending over floral ideas, updated budgets and Beautiful images. My days are filled talking to our couples about the virus, the information we have (and dont have) and just trying to be a shoulder for them to lean on and a friend to call. We are all in this together!!

As a wedding planner I am reconfiguring and rescheduling not only tons of weddings.. but also 3 weeks worth of meetings that have been planned and now need to be re-planned for when the government lifts the restrictions. The reason I bring this up is.. This is my job and This is why I have a job!! I am here to assist couples not only with the little questions about guest count, cake flavor, bridesmaids gifts, but also with the big decisions like postponing their wedding. We are here to spend hours rescheduling, reworking contracts, redoing timelines so that you get to have the wedding you dreamt about.

If there was ever a time to hire a planner, it’s now. “You’re not paying a planner for when things get rosy, you’re paying a planner for when shit hits the fan. It has, and we’re ready and here to advocate for our clients and future couples.”

Lauren and John… a classic and timeless couple for a classic wedding and venue!! Lauren and John quickly picked Minikahda Club for their wedding reception after they were engaged. It was the perfect spot for their 120 guest wedding reception on a chilly November day! Lauren loved flowers and had an eye for detail. Sadie’s Couture Flowers and Events transformed the ballroom with tons of textured florals in unique lilac and greenery hues. Printerette Press tied everything together with the simple and classic wedding invitation and the whismy and unique illustration they drew for the save the date and day of stationery! One of the final details we put on decor was ordering Macaroon Favors.  LADURÉE was a favorite of the bride and grooms and the color of the macaroon perfectly matched Minikahda Club’s charger plates!
