lasting impressions weddings is an award-winning minnesota wedding planning and design company

From the minute I spoke to Arah and Doug, I knew that I wanted to be their wedding planner and that we were going to have a lot of fun!!! Most of our planning was done via email because they lived in Nebraska (another reason that I loved them… Go Huskers!!) But even with the distance I felt like I knew exactly what Arah and Doug were trying to achieve with the look of their wedding and the right vendors to make that look and feel come to life!! They choose to get married in January in Minnesota (CRAZY, I know..) but with lots of out of town guests a venue like Windows on Minnesota made perfect sense to not only have a hotel attached to the venue, but also to showcase Minneapolis to all of their guests!!

Arah and Doug always thought about others before themselves and they wanted to make the wedding day a fun party for all of their guests. The gold and black theme was not only elegant, but we also tried to capture some of the New Years Eve excitement and wanted everything to sparkle ūüôā The personal touches were everywhere‚Ķ Charley, the couples puppy was not only part of the wedding ceremony, but we also featured his cute little silhouette on the postage stamps and on small details on the invitation! We welcomed all of the out of town guests with Minnesota Out of town bags featuring all of our favorite MN Treats! Arah and Doug brought a little bit of Nebraska into the mix‚Ķ Lemon Fresh Day entertained all of the wedding guests well into the night‚Ķ the band was AMAZING.. and I cant wait to see them again soon!!!

Thank you Arah and Doug for allowing me to help plan your special day and get to know the two of you!! XOXOXO!

Angela was a DREAM bride (I miss you so much Angela!!) She was the type of bride that knew what she wanted and really hired great vendors to carry through her vision!! Angela and Phil planned their wedding from Texas and it was held on a gorgeous September day here in Minnesota!!
The wedding complete with food stations, acrylic menus and lots of blinged out decor was a lot of fun to be apart of!

I love this time of year! I get to meet all kinds of new clients and reflect back on all of the fantastic weddings from the past summer.. Michelle and John’s wedding was one of them! I loved Michelle and John! Michelle had an impeccable eye for details and knew exactly what she wanted! John was present at every meeting that we had and took an interest in flowers and decor (which I always appreciate!!!) They were engaged in December and married in July and that made for a quick and fun planning process! Weddings planned under 6-9 months are always my favorite! I love the adrenaline rush and the quick decisions that need to be made! Thank you to the great team of vendors that made this July day so beautiful!!

As you can tell.. I have not been blogging very often as we have been busy creating and coordinating wonderful weddings every weekend since April… But I am getting very anxious to share these wonderful weddings with you. Matt and Claire started their planning about a year ago when they called me from New York and told me all about their wonderful ideas and I explained how I could help turn their long distance planning into an easy process!! To see this vision become reality is my favorite part of my job and I am still in awe of how some ideas can really transform a space! Enjoy the photos by the wonderful Gina from A Truth Be Shown… Not only does she do an amazing job, she is very quick getting me photos! When I start to talk about Megan and Ben I just get so excited. What a great pair and a fantastic family!! I started to work with them about 6 months before their big day. They had the location, the photographer and a few other vendors and then I jumped in. The relationship that I had with this couple and family was the reason I do this for a job. I love becoming ‚Äúpart of the family‚ÄĚ and a big part of the special day. They made me feel so loved and I wanted nothing more than to make this day go perfect! In a month of bad weather we got really lucky and got some great sunshine!!

The pictures below were taken from the wonderful Erin Johnson. What a rockstar! She was at the reception until the very end trying to get a slideshow together for the morning after brunch, we were having some technical difficulties and she never one complained.. she just kept trying and wouldn’t you know it… we got a slideshow for the next day!!

To Megan, Ben, Lisa and Scott… I am truly honored to have worked with you and thank you for making me a part of your family! I loved every bit of it!!!

Here is a very special part of the many great notes I got from Lisa (The mother of the bride) I just about cried every time I got a great email!!

You are truly a beloved new member of our family Sarah.  We accept this generous gift with the caveat…. You will help us enjoy it!    Because, yes, we are not done with you.  NEVER.  You have won us over with your excellent job performance  working on an event that was surely the biggest thing in at least 4 lives. ( Megan, Ben, Lisa and Scott).  Scott’s and my wedding 27 years ago was lovely and very emotion filled.  And yet, the marriage of our beloved daughter was even more powerful in many ways.  Let’s just call it, the circle of life.  You will understand this with the marriage of YOUR own child someday….

But your real skill during this amazing process was to win our hearts.  ALL OF OUR HEARTS.  You are loved and revered more than many of our ( born into) family members.  Many times the best family is the one you create.  You fit that role to a T.
