Sarah and Ryan were married at Lafayette Country Club on Lake Minnetonka this past Spring and we were honored to get to work with them!! Sarah hired us while she was living in San Francisco and planning the wedding from across the country. She works in the industry as a fashion and lifestyle blogger (Check out her blog!!) So she had a very clear vision of what she was looking for with her wedding decor!
A beautiful and elegant Balloon display, donut walls and a Monogramed white dance floor were a few of the fun elements I was excited to pull together for their special day! Sarah and Ryan’s Monogram really set the tone for the whole wedding as we started to brand it on the stationery, signage and even on the white dance floor.
Lauryn and Tommy’s JX Event Center wedding was the perfect “kick-off” to wedding season in March!!!! There was just enough snow on the ground for perfect photos, yet spring was on the way and Lauryn’s choice of bridesmaids dresses made everyone really crave the spring temperatures!!!
JX Event Center was a great backdrop for our elegant chandeliers, greenery and beautiful lilac flowers and linens!! Lake Elmo Inn is one of my favorite caterers and every time we get to go over to the East Side of the cities I am always so excited to get to use their catering services!!
Jimmy and Lindsay’s wedding day was such a memorable and special day and we are lucky that Alma Films was there to capture this Hutton House Wedding Video! Lindsay and Jimmy transformed Hutton House into a winter wonderland… bringing in Evergreen Trees and adding lots of holiday touches! Just before the ceremony the snow started and it resulted into beautiful photos and a memory I will never forget!
I have so much love for this family its hard to even think of where to begin!! I have known the Roberts Family for three years now and it all began when I had the honor of planning Emily and Jay’s wedding in 2016. It was a beautiful event and my favorite part of planning was getting to know both Emily and Jay’s family and seeing the tight knit bond that they all had!
Fast forward to the summer of 2017… I woke up one morning to a text from Dave Roberts. He had sent the text late at night letting me know that Libbie and Matt had gotten engaged. You know that the planning process is going to be fun when on the night of the engagement you get a text!!
Luckily for me, I was open for the date they were hoping to get married and Libbie had already been in super planning mode locking down the Basilica and JX Event Center for their wedding date. With all of the plans starting to come together we focused on the decor, which is always my favorite part of the planning process. The Roberts family are experts at planning decor and always know exactly what they want. We combined elements of a classic wedding with fun and unique details such as gingham patterns, greenery and elegant white floral.
The bridesmaids wore custom made dresses by Camilynbeth (And they are even named the “Libbie”). Libbie incorporated many sentimental elements into her wedding day including a monogram on her veil, photo charms on her bouquet, and custom made cuff links.
We used Libbie and Matt’s monogram to really “brand” the wedding decor. The monogram was included on the day of stationery, favors and We even hung a 3ft monogram above the dance floor!
Just when I did not think the wedding could get any better, Matt’s bar was onsite to cook late night Juicy Lucys for all of the wedding guests… Talk about the perfect end to a great wedding!
This is the season of thanks and as you can probably tell from my last blog post, I have been thinking about that a lot this year.There is a perception that wedding season slows down in the winter months. While the weddings every weekend do slow down, it is the time of the year that we are in back to back meetings with the florists, stationery designers, tasting cakes, booking bands. You get the point 🙂 So while there is never really an “off” time around Lasting Impressions… I am always so thankful for a few more days at my desk to look through photos of the weddings from Summer, organize my files and just thank god for giving me a job that I adore!!!
So on the topic of people I adore, I want to share with you Kim and Alec’s wedding!! This family has a special part of my heart for many years! I first met the Saunders when I got to help Mindy and Ryan plan their special day and then a few years later I got the call that Rachel and Billy were getting marriedand then shortly after that Kim and Alec started to plan their big day!! Kim and Alec were not only wonderful to work with, but they were super decisive. Busy careers and coaching schedules left little time for meetings and deliberation. Kim and Alec did a great job of trusting their vendors and with Mother of the Bride Debbie at the helm, there was not a detail missed.
The weather may not have cooperated as much as we would have wished, but the rain did stop for just long enough to get some beautiful photos in downtown Wayzata and downtown Minneapolis!The couple picked the Machine Shop for their reception venue and wanted a really light and airy decor. Mixing in hanging lights, greenery and light blue fabrics we created a really summery fresh feel.
To say that I am sad that this is the last wedding for the family is an understatement.. but I will always cherish all of my planning with them and luckily, I get to run into them every once and a while at weddings!
When I first met with Heather, about a year before her wedding, she already had a great idea of what she wanted her wedding to look like and how she wanted it to feel for her guests.The couple had booked the Machine Shop for her wedding reception and they had already hired a handful of awesome vendors. I was lucky enough to get to work together with her to bring the rest of her vision to life!
Heather knew she wanted to add a lot of soft colors and elements to the decor to soften The Machine Shop’s Industrial Look. Kindred Blooms was the perfect florist to bring all of Heather’s Visions together! They incorporated soft fabrics, hanging floral and ribbons to create a 3D ceiling installation that turned the Machine Shop’s industrial space into a whimsical wedding venue. Trees were added along the sides of the stage to bring an element of the outdoors inside. Paper Rock Scissors and Farina brought tied all of the elements together in the stationery and dessert designs.
The ceremony took place at St. Thomas Chapel, which held a lot of special meaning to both Heather and Guiseppe since they both attended college there!
We had the privilege of working alongside Russell Heeter and John Hoel who captured all of the elements of the day (Love these guys!!) and Good for Gary certainly got the party of the dance floor! The weather was perfect and I could not have enjoyed working with Heather, Giuseppe and her mom planning this beautiful wedding!!
